So I’m in the tropics right now and pineapple’s all the rage here, so I figured it was only fitting to write about what has become one my fave breaky combos back home. There’s nothing complex about it or particularly clever, but it does hit the spot. Either a refreshing start to the day or, subtract the banana and reduce the grains and you have the perfect detour from a late night grab for the secret chocolate stash. And we all have one of those, yes? The combination of sweet tangy pineapple and chewy caramel dates really does the trick for a sweet craving, plus the quinoa, buckwheat and banana provide sustenance to set you on the way for a big, full day xx
Tropical Pineapple and Date Breakfast Bowl

Ingredients
(Serves 1)
1 Medjool Date, chopped
1 banana, sliced
2 slices pineapple, chopped
Sprinkle of flaked coconut (approx 1tbs)
Sprinkle flaked almonds (approx 1bs)
1/4 cup puffed quinoa
1/4 cup raw buckinis
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp maca powder (optional)
3-4 tbs Vanilla yoghurt to serve
Directions
1. Simply combine date, banana, pineapple, buckinis and puffed quinoa. Sprinkle with flaked coconut, almonds, cinnamon and maca. Serve with vanilla yoghurt xx
